Keep Looking

Answers to prayer come in various ways, so if the answer to your prayer is not evident, "keep looking". God does not have any set pattern with His answers, however, we know He hears us because His Word in I Peter 3:12 says, "His ears are open to our prayers".

Then we read in Isaiah 65:24 where God says, "before you call, I will answer". In Mt. 21:22 we are told, all things you ask in prayer will be received. So, when you say you don't receive an answer, Keep Looking, God does answer each and every prayer as He chooses.

Have Faith in the Future

When tragedy strikes and we lose a loved one, it seems premature no matter what age they die. Then, the next thing we think about is, what did I do to deserve this? And how can I go on, when my loved one has lost their life. The answer is, with God's help you can go on!

But will God be there? The answer is, yes He will. "God always meets us directly at the point of our need. God's grace is not displayed in a trophy case; it is dispensed lavishly in the arena of affliction" (quote by Norm Nelson).

There are no easy answers in situations like this. The only one who knows the future is God and the sooner we decide to leave our problem in His capable hands, the easier it is going to be to get on with our life. So, have faith in the future.

Time is Not Recyclable

If you try to recycle time by looking back to the past, it's like trying to recapture your youth. Forget the past and do not give any priority to it. It is nonproductive and without value. Moving forward should be the area of your concentration.

God created the earth and our 24 hour day. He placed the earth on an axis so, as it rotates there is a new day and a new beginning. Let us look forward to it with anticipation.

Don't worry about all those things that had to be done yesterday, God knows what you need (Math.6:8), so just do what you can each day. Tomorrow is another day with a new beginning, and remember, God designed it that way and He knows best.

Timing is Everything

Prayer is one of the greatest benefits God has given to us. In Philippians 4:6 we are told "let your requests be made to God".

When we pray and don't receive an answer, are we to stop praying? No! We should never stop praying. After all, at a time like this, the most important thing we can do, is to continue in our communion with our Heavenly Father.

Also, this would be a time when we would be most vulnerable to Satan's tempting. Satan has many tricks, and one is his ability to place obstacles of doubt in our minds. He will lure us with obstacles of diversion. He will try to convince us that God is not listening and doesn't care.

"Submit, therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you" James 4:7. Believe in God, for his answers and His timing is everything.

Endless Love

Almost everything in life has a beginning and an end. Everything that is manufactured has a beginning and an end. Life itself, has a beginning and an end.

There's a saying that goes like this, "Love makes the world go around". Maybe this is a clue as to when love began. We know that the world was created by God and Gods love began before the world was created (John 17:23 & 24).

God is love (I John 4:8) and because He is eternal, His love will continue throughout all time and eternity. Yes, love began with God, however, it is the one thing that has no ending. Love is endless and will go on forever.

Do You Need Help?

In our world today, there is so much that has to be done, especially if you're a single person. As a single person preparing to live outside the home, you believed you could do everything on your own.

Then one day you realized you needed a helper. We read in John 14:16, Jesus told His disciples "God would send them a helper if they needed one". The helper He was referring to was the Holy Spirit. This same Holy Spirit is available to anyone who has accepted Christ as their personal Saviour. If you know Him, He will be your Helper too.

Don't Look Back

Any tragedy can be referred to as a turning point in our lives, and we look back to it more than we should.

Looking back is non-productive and a waste of time. Moving forward should be our goal at all times. God doesn't want us to look back either, because He says, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God" (Luke 9:62).

God will lead and guide us if we let Him (Psalm 23;2-3). He never will push us. If He pushed us, we would always be looking back.

Following Through

Sometimes we ask God too bless us, and then just go on our way. We assume that, that is all we have to do to receive the blessing.

If we want to receive a blessing it is necessary to stay in touch with God, because He desires our attention and follow-through more than we realize.

Communication with God works two ways. First, we ask for a blessing and second, we stay in touch with Him. Besides, God's response can come anytime, and in this way, we will be ready for it when it comes.

Town Hall Meetings

Plan to attend 1 of these times:
Friday, January 18th, 7-9pm
Saturday, January 19th, 9-11am

We will be revisiting and renewing our church's vision together.

Don't miss these important meetings!

Estate Planning

In John 14:1-2, Jesus says, "let not your heart be troubled. If you believe in God, you will also believe in Me. In my Fathers house are many mansions....and I go to prepare one of these for you."

If we own a mansion estate here on earth, it won't do us any good. The only thing that matters is our salvation. So when we believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, we will automatically inherit a mansion estate in heaven.

NOW -- that's "REAL ESTATE PLANNING"

A New Year

The Bible tells us that we are not to remember things of the past (Isa. 43:18). As you end one year of your life and begin another, you will realize how important it is to forget the past.

The good thing is, God goes before us to make the rough places smooth (Isa. 45:2). Remember, God was there for you in the good times and the bad times and he'll be there for you in the future as well.

So don't be afraid of this new year -- look forward to it with anticipation, for it is going to be your best year ever.
