Earthquakes

Earthquakes are quite common in California and are becoming more evident in other areas of the world and can be quite devastating. In Mark 13:8, one of the signs of the end times has to do with earthquakes being in various places.

One earthquake is reported to have brought a dramatic conclusion to an event that was designed to fulfill the needs of everyone on earth. This is recorded in Matthew 28:2 and takes place in the first century. A severe earthquake was recorded and this quake brought a conclusion to God's plan of salvation, with Jesus being resurrected from His grave.

The earthquake preceded the appearance of an angel who came down from heaven to roll the stone from the grave of Jesus, so everyone who looked in would be convinced that the resurrection of Jesus Christ took place.

Tough Decisions

Once again, I made a bad decision, now what do I do? Maybe I should have asked God to help me first. He's the only one who knows the future and what is best for me.

If I trust first in God and then in myself, I should make the right decision every time. In Luke 18:27 Jesus says, "the things that are impossible for us are possible with God". So, when we make a decision, look to God in faith believing. Remember, a right decision is always better than a wrong one.

And so it is, when it comes to making a decision regarding your salvation. For this, there is only one way. That is to believe in Jesus Christ who was resurrected from the dead and when you do, you will have everlasting life (John 3:16).

We Have Desires

When you apply for employment you expect to be paid for the work you do. At the time of your interview, benefits will be discussed as well. In the life of the Christian here on earth, desires become benefits.

Let's see what the Bible says about desires. In the book of Colossians, the third chapter, verses 12-14, Paul gives us a run down on the benefits and the desires we will have.

After you read this you may want to consider the life of a Christian. The apostle Paul says we will have the desire to be compassionate and kind, to have patience and gentleness and to have humility and forgiveness. "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity".

Ability

Everyone has some ability. What's yours? It's possible that what you're reading right now was written by someone who has the ability to write. Likewise, not everyone has the ability to read, but you do. So, where does our ability come from? Actually, the abilities we have come through a learning process.

Every learning process makes it possible for us to be where we are today. Do you realize how many abilities you use every day and every week? Many abilities are physical and many used, are mental. Without them, you would never make it through the day, let alone, through the week.

Another area in the abilities process are the abilities God provides for us. He has the ability to do more for us. In fact, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

The Forces of Good and Evil

In the world there is an evil force that needs to be reckoned with. With the evil power it has, we need to be alert to its tempting all the time. However, there is a second force that is able to counteract the evil force and it has all the power needed to eliminate the evil force.

The evil force is Satan who tries to divert us from the good force who is God. Yes, Satan knows what will distract us and he will take advantage of it every chance he gets. So be on guard against the evil force, for he is always there.

When you are tempted by Satan, rebuke him. Let him know that you are a child of God, and he will leave. That's what Jesus did when Satan spoke through Peter in Mark 8:33.
