A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Dear Heavenly Father,

THANKS-FOR-GIVING us your son Jesus Christ for 32 years. THANKS-FOR-GIVING up Jesus during his crucifixion at Calvary. THANKS-FOR-GIVING us the way of salvation and eternal life. THANKS-FOR-GIVING us Christmas, Easter and "Thanksgiving" so we can remember your son's birth, crucifixion and ascension. THANKS-FOR-GIVING us the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, the one who never leaves us nor forsakes us.

THANKS-FOR-GIVING us this day in which we can take the time to tell others how much we love them and how much they mean to us. Thank you for your many blessings. In your precious name we pray, Amen.

Overcoming Hurts

When you're struggling in a relationship, do you turn to God for help? How do you pray? Is your prayer a prayer requesting help? What do you do when the problems in your relationship persist? Should you break off the relationship, or pray differently?

Why not pray and ask God to love the one who is hurting you? This will allow God to do what He does best. His love will penetrate your relationship because "God is love" (I John 4:8).

When God's love enters into your relationship, it becomes more loving and the misunderstandings are less frequent. Then the relationship has a strong foundation and - isn't that what you wanted in the first place.

Our Provider

The early pilgrims worked hard preparing the soil and planting the seed. God provided the sun and the rainwater. With hard work and God's blessing, the crops were harvested. The pilgrims celebrated by having a Day of Thanksgiving,

Today God provides for us just as He did for the pilgrims. On Thanksgiving, let us thank Him for being our provider.

Peace for the World

One day Jesus, the Prince Of Peace, was talking to His disciples on the subject of peace (Luke 19:42). We are told that they were not able to comprehend it. Today, the world is still looking for peace and is unable to find it. Perhaps they are looking in all the wrong places.

As Christians, we have the answer because Jesus is our Prince of Peace. If the world is to find this peace, it is up to us to reach out with the Gospel of Peace. We are Jesus' hands, feet and voice and if we pray for guidance and direction, we will be able to do the task we were appointed to do.

So, let us begin by reaching out to those around us wherever we we meet them, and let them know about God's love, for God is love and peace.

Yes We Can

There were many expressions used in the '08 election campaign, and one that Barack Obama used to become president-elect was "YES WE CAN." He won something he never had before by doing something he never did before.

How many times have you attempted to do something and failed at the attempt? Most everyone reading this writing will admit that it has happened to them. In life, to obtain salvation, which may be something you have never done before, just say, "YES I CAN." Then accept Christ as your personal savior and you will see how something you never had before will be yours.
