Standing By

Life has many challenges. In many cases and many times, we don't even realize when we go through these challenges. Because the solution is so automatic, we solve the problem before it becomes a challenge.

When changes in our daily routine occur, they end up with a challenge that has to be taken care of right away. Because if we don't, it will mess up the schedule we're on. The answer to this requires help from our God. And God is waiting in the wings (so to speak). Actually, He's standing by, just waiting for us to call upon Him so He can bless us.

Helping God

In preparation for His triumphant entry on Palm Sunday, Jesus told His disciples to untie a donkey and it's colt and bring them to Him. Then He said, "If anyone should ask you what you're doing - you will say, the Lord has need of them"(see Matthew 21).

If God says to you that He needs your help, He will provide all the power you will need to do His will (II Cor. 3:5). So, don't hesitate to answer God when you hear His call.

Flight Plan

It is essential for a pilot to file a flight plan before each and every flight regardless of the distance to be flown. It is the same as planning a vacation with your automobile. You have to know where you're going before you leave your home. If you don't plan ahead, you will end up at the wrong destination.

We read in Proverbs 16:9, "the mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps". So, we know God wants the best for us.

What's your destination after death? Do you know where you're going? If you have accepted Christ as your personal Saviour, your flight plan has already been filed and you're ready for takeoff, if not, now is the time to accept Him (II Cor. 6:2).

Eternity

Eternity is defined as an existence without beginning or end - Endless. When the word eternity is used in conversation, the full meaning is not always comprehended. Think about it! Think about something without a beginning. There is nothing in this world that didn't have some kind of beginning, and there is nothing that will last forever.

Manufacturers will tell you that their product has a lifetime guarantee, but the lifetime they are referring to has an end. All products are designed before they are built and brought into the marketplace which means they all have a beginning.

In Genesis 1:1, we read "in the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Here again, we see a beginning. But what about God Himself? We believe Him to be eternal. In Exodus 3:14, God said to Moses, "I Am who I Am". This statement alone tells us that God has always been and always will be, without a beginning or an end. Eternity will be available to all who believe in Christ. Just imagine what that will be like! Life without end. Have you accepted Christ as your personal Saviour? If not, do it now.

Earthquakes

Earthquakes are quite common in California and are becoming more evident in other areas of the world and can be quite devastating. In Mark 13:8, one of the signs of the end times has to do with earthquakes being in various places.

One earthquake is reported to have brought a dramatic conclusion to an event that was designed to fulfill the needs of everyone on earth. This is recorded in Matthew 28:2 and takes place in the first century. A severe earthquake was recorded and this quake brought a conclusion to God's plan of salvation, with Jesus being resurrected from His grave.

The earthquake preceded the appearance of an angel who came down from heaven to roll the stone from the grave of Jesus, so everyone who looked in would be convinced that the resurrection of Jesus Christ took place.

Tough Decisions

Once again, I made a bad decision, now what do I do? Maybe I should have asked God to help me first. He's the only one who knows the future and what is best for me.

If I trust first in God and then in myself, I should make the right decision every time. In Luke 18:27 Jesus says, "the things that are impossible for us are possible with God". So, when we make a decision, look to God in faith believing. Remember, a right decision is always better than a wrong one.

And so it is, when it comes to making a decision regarding your salvation. For this, there is only one way. That is to believe in Jesus Christ who was resurrected from the dead and when you do, you will have everlasting life (John 3:16).

We Have Desires

When you apply for employment you expect to be paid for the work you do. At the time of your interview, benefits will be discussed as well. In the life of the Christian here on earth, desires become benefits.

Let's see what the Bible says about desires. In the book of Colossians, the third chapter, verses 12-14, Paul gives us a run down on the benefits and the desires we will have.

After you read this you may want to consider the life of a Christian. The apostle Paul says we will have the desire to be compassionate and kind, to have patience and gentleness and to have humility and forgiveness. "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity".
