Ability

Everyone has some ability. What's yours? It's possible that what you're reading right now was written by someone who has the ability to write. Likewise, not everyone has the ability to read, but you do. So, where does our ability come from? Actually, the abilities we have come through a learning process.

Every learning process makes it possible for us to be where we are today. Do you realize how many abilities you use every day and every week? Many abilities are physical and many used, are mental. Without them, you would never make it through the day, let alone, through the week.

Another area in the abilities process are the abilities God provides for us. He has the ability to do more for us. In fact, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

The Forces of Good and Evil

In the world there is an evil force that needs to be reckoned with. With the evil power it has, we need to be alert to its tempting all the time. However, there is a second force that is able to counteract the evil force and it has all the power needed to eliminate the evil force.

The evil force is Satan who tries to divert us from the good force who is God. Yes, Satan knows what will distract us and he will take advantage of it every chance he gets. So be on guard against the evil force, for he is always there.

When you are tempted by Satan, rebuke him. Let him know that you are a child of God, and he will leave. That's what Jesus did when Satan spoke through Peter in Mark 8:33.

Something

Have you ever gotten something for nothing? If you have, you probably paid for it in the long run. Someone once said, "everything nice has its price". If this is true, there may not be something for nothing after all. Did you know "to get something for nothing you never had, you have to do something you never did".

So, what is the something you never did - in order for you to get the something you never had? Could it be that you never accepted the gift of salvation? One thing is for sure, if you're not a born-again Christian, maybe it's the "something" you should have, for the something you never did. (John 3:16).

To obtain salvation there's nothing to do, just accept it, because, Jesus paid for it on the cross. Now you can get the "something" you never had for the "something" you never did.

Demand or Desire

When you're at work, does your boss demand you do your work a certain way - or does he ask you in a pleasant manner? Even if it is something in your job description, you would be more willing to do it if he didn't demand it.

At some time in your life you will have to make a decision between two opposing forces in this world. There is a god of confusion who will demand you take control of your life. The other force is described in II Peter 3:9, where it says, "the Lord is patient and desires that everyone will repent" and change their way of life.

When it comes time for you to make your life changing decision, the choice will be up to you. Will you choose the one who demands or the one who desires?

In God We Trust

All U.S. currency declares that we in the United States trust in God. On September 11, 2001, terrorists declared war on America and the world. Since then it is evident that the United States has returned to their roots as a strong praying nation.

In God's Word - The Bible, we are reminded to pray for all who are in authority and likewise in places of high responsibility. In this way we can have peace and spend more time in Godly living (I Timothy 2:2).

In 2 Cor. 1:9, we are reminded that we should not trust in ourselves, but trust in God. Let us remember how this country was founded and based on the principle of, "In God We Trust".

Our Changing World

This world changes so rapidly these days that the products manufactured yesterday are being redesigned today and coming off line tomorrow. Nothing remains constant.

Progress is inherent in all of us and demands change. Nothing holds it back. In the Bible, it says, "The firm foundation of God stands", II Tim. 2:19. And Solomon reminds us in Proverbs 10:25 that "the righteous has an everlasting foundation". The Lord of Hosts makes it very plain in Malachi 3:6 when He says, "I the Lord do not change".

We read in Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ, God's Son, is the same yesterday and today, yes, and forever. So, in this ever changing world that we live in, it is good to be a part of God's family and God Himself, who is the one true God who never changes.

Heart Donors Wanted

Have you ever considered making a heart donation? It doesn't really take that long to sign up, because there are no forms to fill out.

This is how it is done: "if you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). That's all there is to it.

If you have followed that simple procedure, your heart has been donated to God. Because it's so easy, take a minute and do it right now.
