In Matthew 12:40, we read that "the Son of Man (Jesus) will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." As it was predicted, on the third day after His crucifixion, Jesus Christ rose from death to life, resurrected from the tomb, leaving the linen grave clothes lying where He had been laid.
